Church Camp
Nov holidays. Pre-christmas church camp.
Church-wide initiative, but camps are allocated according to groups under the same pastor.

On our side, the aim of the camp didn't feel like it was for gearing up for christmas growth.
Lyn really really beat the quota to the ground & final KO-ed it.
The elite sister groups (sister as in related, not means all female) also brought in close to a hundred people.

Met Sarah there (Though she transferred out, her group was still under our pastor)
She was asst leader at this time.
We meet again, 过来人. Me & Rach had to double up our guard.

S pulled me to one side: "Inside info."

S: "Besides groups like mine who had poor growth, the rest of the camp actually..."

While the few odd groups with poor growth will get slightly different 'curriculum',
The camp itself was mostly training ground for those in leadership to run events. Not so much to hype the members.
Also potentially training for a senior leader (Bro Jeremiah) to promote to pastor.
He was the one in charge of the camp. pastor was totally hands off, didn't even appear once the whole camp

As senior members, we didn't have much rules.
Didn't have to follow schedule strictly, can choose the activities we wanted to opt out on.
Order Mac whenever we wanted etc. Allowed to roam the compound after 'lights out'.

Newer members had to follow a stricter regiment. Must follow timetable, eat the provided meals.
Me & Rach joined in some of the stuff with Faith & Co. But mostly just sit one side & chill.
As usual, they made things immensely fun & awesome.

Can't say the same for the elite groups. Even with the re-structing & laxing,
some of them stil held on to the old ways of holier than thou. Haughty arrogant assholes.


CMJL Pt1
The new girls only contact with more senior members were us, some from our old Ellen group (under Matt's now),
and at most, once or twice with the young adults on Adam's side.

Due to our 'special history', our groups under Lyn & Matt were above status quo in terms of laxness.
They didn't have to go through the BS we oldies did.

Now crossing paths with different groups, they were in for a taste of what it was like for us when we were new.

An analogy, it's basically a meeting between
"sheltered 名校 (elite schools) kids who never failed any subject before"
vs "the street tough neighbourhood school kids who don't get straight As on a daily basis"

The two elite 'chain' of groups, under senior leaders Charmaine & Junliang (CMJL).
Always favoured by pastor due to their crazy high growth rates.
Their group carries this high airs wherever they went.

The types never fail to pray before every meal, make conversations with bible verses kind of people.
Even the old guai kia X would have his work cut out for him if he had joined them instead.

CMJL members all had well to do background - rich kids, high flyers.
Heard one of their members, Thaddeus, just very slightly older than us,
drives his personal BMW to pick members to group meeting

Also this brings to mind. That time Matt got together with Lyn & transferred in to our group:
On our side Ellen announced Matt as a "member from elite group here to help our group grow"
On their side, Matt was a fallen angel. Seduced by Lyn & banished to our group.

That should give some background on why they look down on us.
Don't know if they intentionally pick on us coz of that, but there is reason to believe so.

Our new girls were genuinely open to learn more about the bible, culture, values & beliefs.

They commanded quite the authority.

Could see Lyn wasn't too confident, struggling to keep it together.
She came back to us with a strong poker face while CMJL & members left the hall.
