Pubs, clubs in Bangkok, 40 other provinces to shut for 2 weeks

All entertainment places in 41 provinces, including Bangkok, will be ordered to shut their doors for at least two weeks, as Covid-19 cases spawned by the Thong Lor cluster spread rapidly across the nation.

The decision comes ahead of the long Songkran holiday next week, when millions of people will hit the roads for vacations or family reunions.

New cases linked to pubs, bars and clubs in Thong Lor area have leapt from Wednesday's report of 291 in 15 provinces to 504 cases in 20 provinces on Thursday, according to CCSA figures, which track infections since March 22.

The 41 provinces where all entertainment venues - bars, pubs, clubs and karaoke bars - will be closed are:

All 20 provinces hit by the Thong Lor cluster are included in the 41-province list.

2 years full time + maybe another 10 years of reservice after that.
Here NS is compulsory for all males, even ladyboy who havent changed gender in ID.
In thailand, only 5% (20 balls, only 1 ball is different colour i think?) gets balloted to serve NS.

BANGKOK: At least 12 hospitals in Thailand's capital, Bangkok, said as of Friday (Apr 9) they were suspending testing for COVID-19 due to high demand and shortage of supplies, amid a new spike in cases.

The hospitals issued notices on their social media and on messaging apps this week, some saying the suspension would last only a few days and others giving no date for resumption of tests.

What went wrong? They yet to vaccinate all the medical staff? Or the vaccines used don't work?

The management of Rajvithi Hospital said late on Thursday night that 10 more staff members had caught Covid-19, and asked people not to visit the hospital unless it was really necessary.

The announcement said a surgeon at the hospital tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday, and the 10 new cases there were people who had been in close contact with the doctor.
Even mata now WFH. Do you think the RTP will work hard from home? 5555

The Royal Thai Police (RTP) on Thursday asked about half its staff at its head office to begin working from home and other units to adopt the same measure wherever possible.

The work-from-home order, plus other measures, was ordered by national police chief Suwat Jangyodsuk after at least 42 police officers were confirmed to have contracted Covid-19, said RTP spokesman Pol Maj Gen Yingyos Thepjamnong.

Re: Living in Bangkok!

So do you believe Chuwit?

Quote:

Two cabinet ministers who reportedly visited a night entertainment venue in Thong Lor linked to a new Covid-19 cluster are to be invited to give details of their movements to a House committee.

https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand...ed-politicians

Former politician and media firebrand Chuvit Kamolvisit has challenged ministers and lawmakers who became infected with Covid-19 after attending bars in the Thong Lor area to reveal their timelines.

"It is not wrong for men to have a night out clubbing. Men sometimes behave in a naughty way but they do not commit any crime," Mr Chuvit, the former owner of massage parlours told media at a press conference.

"But you are wrong when you cover up details of your timeline because it prevents authorities from tracing and containing Covid-19 transmissions," he said warning that the latest resurgence of Covid-19 could be the worst.

"Unlike previous cluster infections, the current outbreak involves rich and powerful people who meet and mingle with a lot of people."

Mr Chuvit aimed his anger at a few politicians who have been accused of visiting pricey bars -- the Krystal Club and Emerald Club in Bangkok's Thong Lor area.

Both places -- known as hangouts for politicians and billionaires -- were closed after scores of staff members were found infected with Covid-19.

Re: Living in Bangkok!

Its weird cuz the jabs supposed to be FREE but now become citizens can go private hospital to pay for it in order to cut Q?

Thailand already approved 5 vaccines and now using private hospitals to go buy additional brands like Sinopharm? Sputnik V? etc? Vaccines already so limited They gona drive up the vaccines price si bo? 555555

This Anutin really is smoking weeds only. Sg should resell Sinovac to Thai private hospital to clear old stocks. Maybe can make a profit out of it too.

Quote:
https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand...their-choosing

Private hospitals can buy Covid vaccine of their choosing

Private hospitals can buy 10 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine, in addition to the government's purchases, to help create herd immunity, a senior spokesman said on Friday.

The prime minister assigned Dr Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn, adviser to CCSA, to head a committee for the private purchase of vaccines.

The private procurement would target vaccines from producers other than the manufacturers the government had already registered, for the sake of diversification and risk distribution, Dr Taweesilp said.
