I didnt know Harmoni is so nice until i stay there
Room is spacious enough and clean
Security is tight and there is a door at lift lobby for card access hotel stayers only can enter
I will go back there to stay again. I think same decor like famosa, but much better

Once upon a short time ago, inside a Formosa Hotel room when i was in Batam...hehehe...

...anyone remember any of those? (above and below photos) If you are likely to be given a very old room, one might still notice they hasnt change the telephone,hehehe...also prove how lasting a Panasonic phone can last.

Let's not forget the Sharp brand remote control too,hehehe...

I believe most who are new to Batam has not seen the old Formosa Hotel room i have seen before,hehehe...they have every charging cable for every mobile phone (above) and they even provide Pop Mie instant noodle (below) during every housekeeping make up room for guest which they no longer do so today.

Years back, fitness center (below) aka a gym used to be on the 2nd floor and has now moved to the 4th floor inside King Massage,hehehe...more equipment has been added tho. Never seen a single soul using it before.

On the right hand side of the counter (below photo), used to be called Business center, where i could rent a computer to use like i did in an internet cafe. Which makes this hotel rather unique. (they charge me 2k rupiah per hour of usage tho, which equates to S$0.20 today)

The Business center has been taken down and replaced as a work space for their marketing team today.

Hehehe...just a sudden urge to make this post after chancing upon some old photographs of my favorite hotel in Batam.

Enjoying Batam today and yet not forgetting the past.

In 2016, they start building Formosa Residence just behind Formosa Hotel...and those were the price around 6 months later after their 1st project launch.

The developer no longer selling the apartment tho but buyers are retailing the purchsed apartment at Rumah for about S$96k onward...hehehe...and the project would tentatively be completed by end of 2019 whereby the keys will be handed to their new home owners. Hurray!!

(Note : 1st launch price was known to be close to S$80k for a studio unit)

I started my Batam trip by 1st staying in Formosa,hehehe...who knows, i might just end with Formosa too.

Life...simply has so much good memories. And this is just part of it.

Batam Lumba Lumba Inn hotel that opens just about 2 months ago...its a 2 star hotel which is not-better than Zest.

Mainly 2 types of room in it, standard and Family room. I hear from my friends that they are non-smoking room, so i guess it wont be suitable for me.

Standard room (around 250k rupiah a night stay) :

Family room (about 400k rupiah for one night)

According to my friends, the beds in the room is new. The bad about the hotel is :

1. No elevator for a 2 floor hotel (top floor i think is something else)

2. No Breakfast for the price stated

3. No smoking room

4. No in-house restaurant for food

5. Hotel staff/s dont speak English/Chinese

So practically hotel guest cant get anything from the hotel. But my friend did mention a good point.

They allow guest/s to book online taxi. And they even can help their guest to book too.

Not my kind of hotel to stay in tho.

Then again, i believe most would have already notice Dynasty 99 is just beside this hotel from the 1st picture,hehehe...they are currently under renovation now, whereby many passerby/s have thought they could have closed down.

No, they are not. They will be re-opening somewhere around October 2019,hehehe...would it be another New Berry? Hehehe...

Excuse me if I am dumb, but this is the Formosa room I love! Can you post how is it now?
Maybe on my last time I was so distracted by other things, that I did not notice the change, or I simply forgot.
The only things that I am sure were not there, on my last visits, are the multiple cables for charging phones and that horrible controller for aircondition and lights. They never worked well, however.

I'll choose to go batam anytime rather than Jb if it's a long weekend.

Its actually a small scale KTV inside Memory Hotel. Google Batam memory hotel, and you are already there.

Or to be a little more indirect, its actually behind New Hotel. Look at it this way, step out of New Hotel glass door entrance, turn right walk straight but when you reach a cornering, turn right and continue to walk straight (about 70 steps away),hehehe...you should see either Memory KTV and/or Memory hotel.

If still cannot find, simply walk the block of New Hotel ONE Round.

Extra Note : I just learned that opposite Lumba Lumba Inn Hotel is New Hotel (blocked in between by a big drain tho). Just so in case you couldnt find Memory. According to my friends, its still in buisness.

Gold Bird is no longer in that name but has change to another name called Hai Lai (or so i heard). Look out for Lai Lai Hotel (google it),walk to Batam Star hotel which is just beside Lai Lai and then try to walk behind Batam Star hotel. You should see it. It's literally behind the block of living quarter of Batam Star Hotel and opposite it is Gold Bird.

Note : Directly behind Batam Star Hotel is actually another block that are practically glued together with the hotel itself.

Go behind DC Mall aka back entrance and not the front. Many has mistakenly cross opposite the front of DC mall instead hence they cannot reach Bunga but ends somewhere almost to J8 food court,hehehe...

Since you are already at Sakura, and its behind Utama Hotel. You should actually try to circle Utama hotel one round. You should see many wonderful basic places,hehehe... ranging from MPs to eating coffe shops to booking joints.

They are pretty much basics.

Once one gets the basic right, everything else is up to individual preference. And Batam is more of a mix and match to suit anybody,hehehe...you simply just mix it well enough to suit yourself.

Hi all,
Been reading up the threads with keen interest since i will be heading Batam on 14th Aug. Had finally decided to extend a night's stay instead of the usual day trip (work purpose). Was wondering if anyone can enlighten me on the opening hours of the booking joints? Seems like I can only head there after 4pm. Not sure if it's such a good idea to go so late.

Came back from batam few days ago..Went in on Sun...Batam custom was jammed for almost 1hr..i stayed at Harmoni One hotel..i had a bathtub inside my room..But on tat aftern..we went to opp nagoya hill shopping center...most of the clean massage centers were either closed or fully booked..sianz..went for makan instead and shopping..night we went to nagoya center for a short chill out ..went to cock and bull cafe to watch arsenal n man u match..the waitress there some r pretty..But heard the Foreplay pub is nicer but abit ex..mayb i w try next time..

If going to Batam this week. Please look out for their own Indonesian National day sales in Instagram, Blibli, bukalapak, tokopedia, traveloka eats, gojek food, grabfood, ovo etc. Many deals and discounts. Some apps need to change setting to Indonesia region. Also some clean spa give special deals (price wise).
